Internships
We partner with organizations and companies in the greater Philadelphia area to offer students opportunities to gain meaningful, transformative, real-world experience.
Find Your Internship
Whether you study in Philly in the fall, spring, or summer, our faculty and staff will help ensure you enjoy a positive learning experience. Learning for students at The Philadelphia Center starts before the internship, during the placement process, where students work with TPC’s Director to find a placement that supports their academic and professional goals, as well as their personal working style. The placement and interviewing process is all part of the learning experience.
Interviewing with several organizations allows you to:
- Learn more about your role within an organization
- Understand what learning opportunities are available
- Discover which company or organization would best suit you
- Meet your potential supervisor
The relationships I made through this program and at my internship have deeply impacted my life and my career. I actually moved out to Philadelphia after I graduated college. My contacts with the Philly Center and my internship have created for me the opportunity to return to this area which I love, and to have the opportunity to become a police officer.
Internship Opportunities
Our placements are often with small and medium-sized companies, start ups, and nonprofit organizations.

During Your Internship
After securing your internship, you will work closely with TPC’s Director, who helps ensure that you’ll enjoy a substantial learning experience during your placement. You will spend up to four full workdays per week in your internship and meet with a designated site supervisor weekly. Once per week, TPC students come together for the Experiential Learning and Field Placement course, which provides space for thoughtful reflection. You will develop an individualized Learning Plan, concentrate on key knowledge and skill areas, produce a professional portfolio, and participate in on-site meetings throughout the course of the program.
